Step 1: Surface Preparation: The surface is ground using grit diamonds to remove all old coatings, paint, glue etc. Before work begins, the surrounding areas are protected with plastic, tape, etc.

Step 2: Cutting: Using metal diamonds, the floor is ground to a smooth surface. Progressively finer diamonds and multiple cuts may be needed to reach the smoothness desired.

Step 3: Densifying: The floor is treated with a densifier to add solidity and mass to the concrete which improves strength and resistance.

		Step 4: Polishing: The surface is ground using progressively finer polishing disks until the desired shine is reached.
	Step 5: Staining: If coloring is desired, stain is added to the concrete. Designs can be made by cutting joints in the concrete or using stencils. See the gallery for examples.
